What is ABA?

ABA therapy is a treatment that utilizes scientifically derived interventions to support individuals and their families in acquiring new skills while reducing problem behaviors in order to enhance and improve lives. At its foundation, ABA is based upon empirical data and a strong body of scientific literature to support its effectiveness. Central to the practice of ABA is the idea that all behavior is measurable and reliable. The practice of ABA utilizes evidence based interventions to support individuals with developmental disabilities in overcoming the learning, communication and behavioral concerns that may accompany their diagnosis. Behaviors are socially significant and often include domains such as language, social, daily living, academic, vocational and recreational/leisure skills.

Our services begin with an assessment that is completed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). An individualized treatment plan is developed based on each client’s specific needs. The treatment plan is then implemented and monitored by the client’s treatment team.

Direct intervention is used in our practice to target each developmental domain, increase behaviors and decrease problem behaviors. We promote generalization by providing services across a variety of people and environments to effectively address the client’s needs.
